Arcadio González Brown, Director

Arcadio González Brown currently manages his social work and counseling services practice in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he supports a large clientele of individuals in the Springfield area minority community. Born in Puerto Rico, Arcadio holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology and a Masters degree in Social work from the University of Puerto Rico. He has been a counselor in both the Lawrence & Springfield school systems, a lecturer at the Puerto Rico Junior College, and an associate professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. In addition, during his tenure at the University of Puerto Rico, Arcadio directed the Financial Aid office at the university. Amongst his many accomplishments he was founder and member of the “Concilio Puertoriqueño Contra el Racismo” of Puerto Rico.  The council was supported in its efforts by the governor of Puerto Rico, Carlos Romero Barceló, and his special assistant Pedro Bared Rozario.  Nowadays, Arcadio enjoys spending time with his family, adores his grandchildren, and cannot wait to dig in the dirt when spring comes, and start growing beautiful flowers,

Fundación Ceiba is pleased to announce that it will be accepting applications for the 2024 - 2025 scholarship - "Give Back: Creating a Community of Scholars and Entrepreneurs", starting Tuesday January 16th, 2024. Application deadline has been extended until Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, 17:00 EST due to technical problems with the US Government processing of FAFSA applications..
